About Erme Catino

Erme Catino is a freelance journalist based in Big Cottonwood Canyon, UT. He grew up in the unlikely ski destination of Connecticut and learned to ski at the tiny ski hill of Powder Ridge. Vermont’s Green Mountains lured him, where he earned his undergraduate and masters degree in environmental studies with a thesis: Ski Resort Sustainability. He and his wife are now settled in the Wasatch mountains. Erme’s writing appears in Backcountry Magazine, The Ski Journal, Powder, Skiing, Ascent Backcountry Journal, Outdoor Industry Association, and Ski Area Management.
